DELCADO PARMESAN CHIPS

Created by GUY TURLAND for Delcado

“My Delcado avocado and parmesan chips are a healthy and tasty snack that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. The recipe is simple and quick to make, requiring only a few ingredients, plus the main ingredient being avocado means it's loaded with healthy fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals.” - Guy Turland

Servings: 24 chips

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 18 minutes

Course: snack

Ingredients

  • 1 large ripe Delcado avocado peeled and seed removed

  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese freshly grated or finely shredded

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 1/8 tsp ground black pepper

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 160 C

  2. Line a baking tray with baking paper

  3. In a bowl, add avocado & mash with a spoon until smooth.

  4. Add grated cheese, lemon juice and black pepper, stir until everything is evenly blended.

  5. Add 1 heaping teaspoon of batter to the prepared baking tray, making sure to space each dollop about 3 cm apart.

  6. Using the back of a spoon, smooth out your chips until they’re smooth and 1-2mm thick.

  7. Bake chips for about 15 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown.

  8. Let chips cool completely before eating. Chips will crisp up further as they cool.

  9. These Delcado avocado chips are best eaten once they’re cooled with your choice of dip.

  10. Stored in an airtight container or sealed ziploc bag.

Tip

Carefully checked using x-ray-like, near infrared technology to make sure the internal quality of the fruit is perfect. If you want to check ripeness, simply cradle the Delcado in your palm and gently press the tip, right near the stem. If the flesh gives a little your Delcado is ripe and ready to eat. When choosing a Delcado, there’s no need to excessively thumb test your avocados.
