Delcado & cheese TOASTIE

Deliciously creamy Delcado and soft, gooey cheese. Can you think of a better duo? Neither can we. Follow the recipe below for your next brekkie, lunch or snack. You’ll be enjoying an epic Delcado toastie in no time.

 

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 24 minutes for 4 sandwiches

Serves: 4


Ingredients

  • 2 Delcado Avocados

  • 150g cheddar cheese (16 slices or grated)

  • 8 slices sourdough bread

  • Dash of olive oil

  • Salt and pepper

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C fan forced.

  2. Cut the Delcado avocados in half, remove the seed and peel. Place the avocado face down on a board and thinly slice each one.

  3. To build each sandwich, place a piece of bread on the board, top with 2 cheddar slices and one sliced avocado half. Season with salt and pepper, then top with two more slices of cheddar cheese and another piece of bread.

  4. Drizzle olive oil onto a non-stick pan. Place sandwich in the pan and fry over medium heat, about 2-3 mins. Flip the sandwich in the pan and cook for another 2-3 mins.

  5. Remove from the pan and slice with serrated knife to serve.

  6. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to build 4 sandwiches.

Tip

Delcados are the ideal choice for this toastie thanks to their smooth, buttery texture, making for a deliciously creamy filling. Delcados are slow grown, left on the tree for nearly twice as long as other avocados to let their rich, unique flavour develop.
