WHY WE LOVE OUR MARRON.

We know they’re not the cutest looking little fellas, but they mean the world to us.

They’re marron, freshwater crayfish, and they are super fussy about where they live.

Marron only live and thrive in the most pristine water environments, as they are highly sensitive to pollution. That’s why we love to see our 100 acres of dams spread across our orchards chock full of them. It’s a good sign we’re doing our bit to look after the place.

The natural ecosystem here in Pemberton is truly unique. The area is famous for its majestic, giant karri trees. These beautiful trees border our orchard protecting our avo trees from mother natures extreme forces. They also filter and purify the drenching winter rains that are captured and stored by our network of dams. During the stinking hot Pemberton summer, we rely on our fresh water dams to feed and nurture our avo trees.

We cant stress how important it is to us to look after the land we farm every day and maintain the natural harmony. That’s why we focus on using biological methods of pest control, rather than pesticides.

We also look after our little mates, feeding them avos that don’t make it to market. Nothing ever goes to waste. They love a Delcado too.
